Please read these Terms of Use carefully before downloading or using PCAPNG Analyzer. By downloading, installing, or using the software or this website, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the software or website.
1. About PCAPNG Analyzer
PCAPNG Analyzer is a Windows desktop application that allows you to open, analyze, and export data from .pcap and .pcapng network capture files. All processing occurs locally on your device. No capture data or analysis results are transmitted to any external server.
The software is offered in two tiers: a free Community edition and a paid Professional (Pro) edition. This website at pcapnganalyzer.com ("Site") provides information about the software and facilitates purchase of the Pro edition.
2. License Grant
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:
- Install and use the Community edition on your personal or work devices at no charge.
- Install and use the Pro edition on your devices during the period for which you hold an active, paid Pro license.
You may not sublicense, sell, redistribute, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software, except to the extent permitted by applicable law.
3. Pro Edition — Purchase & Renewal
The Pro edition is offered at $34.99 per year per license. Prices are subject to change with reasonable notice.
Pro licenses are sold through Gumroad, a third-party platform. When you purchase a license, you transact directly with Gumroad and are subject to Gumroad's Terms of Service. We do not handle, process, or store your payment information.
- Payment is due at the time of purchase. Refund requests are handled by Gumroad in accordance with their policies.
- Your Pro license is valid for twelve (12) months from the date of purchase. Access to Pro features requires a current, valid license.
- We are not responsible for any payment processing errors, disputes, or issues arising from your use of Gumroad.
4. Acceptable Use
You may use PCAPNG Analyzer only for lawful purposes. You agree not to use the software or Site to:
- Analyze network traffic you are not authorized to capture or inspect.
- Facilitate unauthorized access to computer systems or networks.
- Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
- Infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.
- Attempt to circumvent license enforcement mechanisms.
You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of the software complies with all laws in your jurisdiction, including laws governing the interception and inspection of network communications.
5. Local Processing & Data
PCAPNG Analyzer processes all files entirely on your local machine. We do not receive, store, or have access to any capture files, packet data, analysis results, or exports you produce with the software.
The Site may collect standard web server logs (such as IP addresses and browser type) for security and operational purposes. We do not sell this data to third parties. If you purchase a Pro license, your payment is handled entirely by Gumroad; we receive only your email address for the purpose of delivering your license key. For more detail, see our Privacy Policy.
6. Intellectual Property
PCAPNG Analyzer, including its source code, user interface, graphics, and documentation, is the intellectual property of its developer and is protected by copyright and other applicable laws. These Terms do not transfer any ownership rights to you.
"PCAPNG Analyzer" and associated logos are trademarks of their respective owner. You may not use these marks without prior written permission.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SOFTWARE AND SITE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the software will be error-free, that threat detection results will be accurate or complete, or that the software will meet your specific requirements. Network analysis and threat detection features are heuristic in nature and may produce false positives or miss genuine threats. You should not rely solely on PCAPNG Analyzer output for security-critical decisions.
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE OR SITE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING UNDER THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SOFTWARE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $34.99, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
9. Third-Party Components
PCAPNG Analyzer is built with Tauri and other open-source libraries, each governed by their own licenses.
10. Changes to the Software and Terms
We may update the software or these Terms at any time. Material changes to these Terms will be communicated via the Site or within the application. Continued use of the software after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
We reserve the right to discontinue, modify, or limit features of either edition at any time, though we will not reduce Pro functionality without reasonable notice during an active license period.
11. Termination
These Terms remain in effect until terminated. Your rights under these Terms terminate automatically if you breach any provision. Upon termination you must cease all use of the software and delete all copies in your possession.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
